Ferrari Enzo, a photo-etched set with metal parts 1:12 from the Hobby Design brand raises a large model of the famous supercar to a display-case project. It fits the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A more extensive extra from Hobby Design for a large model of the Ferrari Enzo car in 1:12 scale, which according to the name combines photo-etched frets with metal parts. This is not a model of an automobile; the set serves as a superstructure for a kit and helps to make a display-case piece out of it.
The Tamiya kit will serve as the basis; it is bought separately.
The Enzo supercar came about at the beginning of the millennium as a showcase of Formula 1 technologies: a carbon monocoque, paddle shifting at the steering wheel and well thought out aerodynamics that managed without a massive rear wing. The body was shaped by the Pininfarina studio and the car became the forerunner of the later limited editions of the brand including the FXX track special. The six-liter engine meanwhile revved willingly to high speeds and is to this day considered one of the peaks of the naturally aspirated era.
Bend the photo-etched parts over a steel ruler or in a bending tool, so that the edges stay perfectly straight. Give the metal surfaces a primer intended for metals before painting, as the coat will otherwise hold badly and rub off during handling. Supplement the brilliant red varnish of the body with satin and semi-gloss shades in the interior, so that the result does not come across flat and the individual materials stand out. Compare the symmetry of the fitted parts with photographs of the real car as you go.
