An accessory from the Scale Motorsport brand for modelers who want to take the engine bay of their model to perfection. It is not a kit but a flexible colored wire in a thickness matching 1:12 scale, intended for imitating ignition leads. The striking red shade corresponds to the sporting spark plug wires we know from racing and modified cars.
The wire is simply cut to the lengths needed and glued with super glue. You will achieve the best result by drilling small holes carefully into the cylinder head and the distributor cap with a fine drill and sinking the ends of the wires into them - the leads then look entirely convincing. You can also add fuel hoses and other wiring to the leads, so that the engine looks like the real thing.
Measure the lengths of the individual wires out beforehand according to the firing order of the cylinders and run them in natural curves - leads that are too taut look unrealistic. The shape of a bend can be fixed with a small drop of glue. In the large 1:12 scale every detail shows, so it pays to work carefully and patiently; the reward is an engine that every viewer will stop at.
