Brushes for Weathering Diorama Set

Brushes for Weathering Diorama Set

A set of synthetic modeling brushes from the AMMO of Mig Jimenez brand. It is not a set of paints and not a finished diorama, but tools: brushes the manufacturer has put together for weathering, that is, for working with wear and soiling of the surface, and for finishing work on a scene. Weathering techniques destroy brushes faster than ordinary painting, because they involve pressing into the material, working dry and often with pigments and oils; that is why it pays to keep a set aside from the good ones for figures.

What the set suits

• Drybrushing, that is, picking out edges and raised areas with almost dry paint.
• Stippling and blending pigments into recesses, onto running gear and the undersides of vehicles.
• Applying and blending washes and oil paints into panel lines and around details.
• Work on the surface of a diorama, where you handle compounds, dust and scatter material.

How to make the brushes last

• Clean the brushes immediately after work: oil paints and washes with a suitable solvent, acrylics with water.
• Do not leave them standing bristles down in a jar of thinner, as they lose their shape.
• After cleaning, reshape the bristles to their original form and let the brush dry lying flat.

Who it is for

For modelers who finish models and dioramas and want a separate set for weathering. The particular makeup of the set, that is, the number of brushes and their shapes and sizes, is given on the product packaging.
