Flowering flax is a Model Scene grass mat with the motif of flax in bloom. A finished area of a field crop that only has to be cut out and glued onto the base of a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Model Scene mat depicting a flax field in bloom. It is not a kit or an object of a scene in its own right but a vegetation material to be applied: the growth is finished on a carrier layer and the modeler cuts it to the shape needed and glues it onto the terrain. Unlike a free meadow this is a cultivated crop, that is a growth with the recognizable structure of a worked field.
Field crops are among the most rewarding elements of rural and suburban scenes. A field gives a diorama a legible area and a sense of scale, bounds the composition and creates a contrast to a road, a field boundary or the edge of a wood. Flowering flax also works well as a background behind the main model: a colored area draws the eye away from an empty edge of the base without competing with the model itself.
For builders of rural dioramas and vignettes, for model railways and for anyone who needs to create a believable area of worked ground quickly.
This is a scenic material, not a kit. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
