A masking set in 1:48 scale for spraying the British Type A roundel, an item marked with the figure 25.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masks for spraying the roundel of the Royal Air Force in the Type A form, that is a three-colored target with a blue outer circle, a white ring and a red center. A sprayed marking has two advantages over a decal: no step or glossy edge of a carrier film appears anywhere, and the color of the marking sits in the same layer as the camouflage, so it takes subsequent weathering as well. The figure 25 in the name distinguishes the individual items within the range; a closer definition is on the box.
The surface under the marking has to be smooth, clean and degreased, otherwise the paint will seep underneath. Apply the mask before spraying, press it down all the way round and lay on thin coats, so that no ridge forms at the edge. The individual circles are sprayed one after another; the order of the colors and the work with the partial masks are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Let every color set before you reach for the next element. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has set and pull it at an angle back over itself.
The white ring covers worst, so apply a light base under it and allow for a higher number of thin coats. Mark the exact position of the roundel on the fuselage and the wing beforehand, as a mask cannot be shifted once applied. Cover the rest of the model around the marking, so that overspray does not reach the finished camouflage.
The set is for modelers of British aircraft who want to spray a marking instead of applying one. The model, paints and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
