Quinta Studio 1:48 F/A-18B is a colored interior on decal paper for the two-seat Hornet. It is applied over a gloss base. Intended for the Hasegawa kit.

A set of colored decals for the cockpit of the two-seat version of the Hornet in 1:48 scale. The color of the instruments, the displays and the lettering is printed at the factory, so work with the finest brush falls away. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The target kit is the Hasegawa one.
With ordinary decals, softeners get the film where it would not settle on its own – over an edge, into an engraved line, around a projection – but with this line they must not be used at all. The chemicals of both softener and setting solution damage the printed resin and ruin the element for good, and the manufacturer forbids both products. So proceed differently: leave the element in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds, slide it off the backing paper onto the gloss varnish and press it down gently with a cotton swab. Temporary rippling while it dries is normal, and the layer usually tightens up by itself. The element has no adhesive layer of its own and holds precisely on the sheen, so the quality of the intermediate varnish decides the result.
Paint the cockpit in the base shade, let the paint cure and overcoat it with a thin layer of gloss varnish. On a matte surface air would be trapped under the decal and the edges would turn white. Once dry, unify the interior with matte or semi-matte varnish – which at the same time protects the print during weathering.
