This kit from the brand Sova Model captures the light twin-engine jet aircraft Learjet in the military form that the US Air Force designates as the C-21A. The model is intended for gluing and painting and is supplied unassembled.
The C-21A is the military designation of the civil business aircraft Learjet 35A, which the US Air Force brought into service in the mid-1980s. It serves above all for the fast transport of people and urgent cargo, for liaison flights and for movements where time decides. Power comes from a pair of small turbofan engines mounted on the sides of the rear fuselage, and the slim tail, the low-set wing with tip tanks and the T-shaped tail surfaces are also typical. Military machines differ from civil ones mainly in their finish, their warning lettering and their equipment for operating within the military transport system.
Small jet aircraft forgive little: the main work lies in gluing the fuselage halves cleanly and in a perfectly sanded seam, because smooth glossy surfaces give away every unevenness. Paint the pilot's station and the engine intakes and close them up before you close the fuselage. For thin plastic use a liquid cement for plastic, fill the seams and work the sanding grit progressively finer. Before the decals it pays to spray the model with gloss varnish and, once dry, to unify everything with a matte or semi-gloss overcoat. Mask the cockpit with precisely cut tape or with masks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
