Omask 1:72 Bf 109 E-3 is a pre-cut masking set for the glazing of a model of the Emil in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model of an airplane. The pre-cut masks are stuck onto the cockpit glazing and serve to give the framing a crisp edge after spraying. In 1:72 scale the bars of the canopy are genuinely narrow and cutting tape by hand tends to be time-consuming, so ready-made masks save a great deal of time. The set is cut for the particular Tamiya kit.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-3 is among the early production versions of the German fighter, which modelers know by the nickname Emil. Characteristic features are the angular framing of the cockpit canopy and the angularly arranged front glazing. For the same type the manufacturer also makes masks for the related E-4 and E-7 versions, as the shape of the glazing differs on the later Emils.
Wash and degrease the glazing, and do not touch it with your fingers. Transfer the masks with tweezers, offer them up dry and only then press the edges down. In a small scale it is crucial that no edge of a mask stands proud, otherwise paint will creep under. Seal the edges with a thin coat of the interior color, then spray the exterior shade in thin coats. Lift the mask while the paint is fresh, with an oblique pull toward you.
The set contains masking parts only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
