Soviet Forces in Germany – vehicle markings is a sheet of waterslide decals for marking vehicles, drawn so that it serves across a range of scales from 1:144 to 1:35. The package holds two identical sheets.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is neither a kit nor an accessory to be glued, but a sheet of waterslide decals. It serves to mark a vehicle model that is already built, or to replace markings that are missing or botched in the base kit. The manufacturer conceived the sheet as multi-scale: the motifs are on it in several sizes, so it can be drawn on for small models in 1:144 just as for large hulls in 1:35. According to the name of the item the package holds two identical sheets, which is practical with hardware where the same symbol is repeated in several places, or when one piece goes wrong during application.
Sheets of this kind hold above all the national and tactical markings of vehicles of the era. Before ordering we recommend comparing the sheet with the subject you are building and checking that the size of the motifs matches your scale.
Decals hold best on a smooth glossy surface. So apply a gloss varnish compatible with your paint to the place the motif will sit on and let it cure properly. Trim the film as closely as possible to the printing, so that no edge shines once it is dry. Soak briefly and move the decal with a brush, not with your fingers. On riveted and broken-up areas a softener helps, as it pulls the film down into the relief. Once dry, go over the whole model with a matte or semi-gloss varnish so that the edges of the film disappear, and only then apply weathering and dust.
This is an accessory to plastic kits, not a model. The kit, paints, varnish and softener are not included in the package.
