Extended wing devices for the BAC 1-11 series 500 in 1:144 scale. The detail that turns the British jet into an aircraft on final.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for the model of the BAC 1-11 jet airliner in the stretched series 500, built in 1:144 scale. It brings a trailing edge with the flaps lowered to the full angle in place of the closed rendition of the base kit, whose name you will find in the name of the item.
The British twin-engine machine with its units mounted on the sides of the tail and the horizontal tail surface at the top of the fin was one of the most successful European jets of its class in the 1960s. The series 500 meant a lengthened fuselage and a greater span, so the cabin held markedly more passengers than the shorter versions. It was in exactly this form that the type flew with British and European carriers until the 1990s.
First try offering the parts up dry and note where material will have to come off. Set the shade of the inner surfaces apart from the upper finish of the wing, so that the depth of the devices still shows once the paint has dried. A light wash in the recesses around the tracks adds plasticity to the whole without looking overdone at this scale. Before gluing, lay both halves of the wing side by side and compare whether the flaps have the same overhang.
