Boeing 720 high-lift flaps 1:144 is a resin accessory with which the retracted wing devices on a model are replaced by extended landing flaps.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cast resin parts in 1:144 scale for a model of the Boeing 720. This is an accessory for a kit, not a model of the aircraft: the supplied parts replace part of the trailing edge of the wing so that the flaps look extended into the landing position.
The Boeing 720 is a lightened standard derived from the Boeing 707 for shorter routes. It has a shortened fuselage and a modified wing, so it differs from its larger sibling in proportions as well as in the shape of the leading and trailing edges. That is precisely why with this type it is important to choose an accessory intended specifically for the 720 and not to rely on parts for the 707 fitting. Extended devices reveal the flap tracks and the stepping of the trailing edge, which are otherwise missing from the model entirely.
Before you reach for a saw, transfer the shape of the mating surface of the resin parts onto the wing and run the cut rather with a margin to the inside, since material can always be taken away but not added. Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, cut off the remains of the casting blocks and level the surfaces with a fine-toothed file. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally applied in spots in several places so that there is time left to level things up. Draw a thin layer of putty into the gap between the resin and the plastic and spray the whole assembly with primer, otherwise the difference in the bases will show up under the clear coat.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
