SX-Art 1:144 masks for the Boeing 737

An accessory for aircraft modelers in 1:144 scale from the brand SX-Art. These are pre-cut masks with which you create sharply bounded color areas on a model of an airliner without filling in with tape. The set is listed for the 737-700, 737-800 and 737-8 MAX versions, so it covers the older as well as the newest rendering of this type. The model and the paints are not included in the package. On airliners it is precisely the long color divide along the fuselage that is the place where the difference between careful and quick work shows.

The real subject

The Boeing 737 is the most widespread airliner in history and it has gone through several generations since the 1960s. The 700 and 800 versions belong to the Next Generation generation, while the newer 8 MAX is told from them mainly by the engines with a serrated edge of the nacelle and by the split winglets. It is precisely these details that decide whether a model matches a particular version.

Use

• clean and degrease the surface of the model, as a mask does not hold on a greasy finish
• carry the masks with tweezers and press the edges down carefully
• spray in thin coats perpendicular to the edge of the mask
• take the mask off while the paint is dry only to the touch
• seal the finished spraying with a gloss clear coat before you start with the decals
• mask the windows and the transition areas separately, so that the lines do not overlap

The set is intended for modelers who want clean color divides. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
