Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set for models of the Douglas C-133 Cargomaster heavy transport aircraft in 1:144 scale. According to the name it covers the C-133A version in the option with the Thor missile as well as the C-133B version. The masks are cut from kabuki masking paper, which holds on curved surfaces and leaves no adhesive behind when lifted off. It is not a kit but an accessory for painting; the exact breakdown of the pieces is given in the instructions supplied.
The Douglas C-133 Cargomaster was a four-engined turboprop strategic transport aircraft of the US Air Force with a high-mounted wing and a cargo hold running the whole length of the fuselage. It was precisely the large unobstructed hold that allowed it to carry outsized loads, missiles among them. The C-133B version differed from the original A series in modifications to the cargo section. In the small 1:144 scale most of the work lies in a clean finish on large areas and in the glazing of the cockpit.
Degrease the surface before masking and let the paint cure properly. Lay the mask on, press the edges down with a blunt point and spray in thin coats so that no step forms at the edge. With small pieces in this scale tweezers with fine jaws help. Take the film off shortly after the paint has dried, ideally at an acute angle back over itself. Wipe any adhesive residue away with a cotton bud and alcohol, clear of the decals.
The set holds only masks. The model, the missile, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
