This photo-etched detail set in 1:144 scale is meant for plastic models of the Tupolev Tu-154 airliner. It is not a separate kit of the aircraft but a set of fine metal parts, which replace or complete the less detailed plastic sections and raise the fidelity of the finished model. It is made by the Ukrainian brand Metallic Details. The target kit is the Zvezda one.
The Tupolev Tu-154 was a three-engine narrow-body airliner of Soviet design, one of the most widespread machines of the Eastern bloc in civil as well as government transport. Its characteristic features are the three jet engines in the tail and the typical silhouette with a high-set tailplane.
The photo-etched parts make the small exterior features more accurate, which at this small scale are hard to reproduce by injection molding. Separate the parts with a sharp knife, bend them over a bender or a metal ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Before gluing as well as before painting we recommend gently degreasing the metal and applying a primer for better adhesion of the paint.
This is an aftermarket accessory. The basic Zvezda kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
