1:32 AIM-120 (A, B) AMRAAM missiles (4 pcs) is a resin set of four AMRAAM air-to-air missiles in the early A and B versions. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that sharpens up the external stores of a kit in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains four AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles in the early A and B versions, cast in resin for 1:32 scale. It replaces the simplified armament of plastic kits: resin casting holds sharper fin edges, finer parting lines and a cleaner surface than injection-molded plastic can offer. The set is an accessory, not an aircraft kit.
The AIM-120 AMRAAM is an American medium-range air-to-air missile with active radar guidance in the terminal phase, thanks to which the launch aircraft does not have to illuminate the target throughout the flight. It entered service at the beginning of the 1990s and replaced the older semi-active missiles of the previous generation. The A and B versions are the first production batches and differ from the later ones mainly in the internal layout of the guidance section; outwardly they are very similar. The missile is carried by Western tactical fighters, typically under the wing or on fuselage stations.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue. Without that neither paint nor glue will hold. Cut off the casting blocks with a fine saw or a knife and never snap them off. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); ordinary plastic cement has no effect on resin. Do the sanding and cutting wet and with respiratory protection, because resin dust should not be inhaled. Apply a primer before painting, and only then the base shade and the markings.
The set is an accessory, not a kit of a whole aircraft. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
