Injection-molded plastic kit of the DKM Type XXIII U-Boat in 1:144 scale from Trumpeter — the small German coastal submarine of the end of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Type XXIII coastal submarine in the large 1:144 scale from Trumpeter. Type XXIII was a small submarine, so even in the large 1:144 scale it makes a compact model in which the slender hull and the low conning tower stand out. The model is built full-hull and usually comes with a base and decals. The exact contents of the box are not stated here.
Type XXIII was a small German coastal submarine of the very end of the Second World War, belonging to the generation of the so-called electric boats (Elektroboot). Unlike the older types it was optimized for running submerged and powered by strong electric motors, which gave it unusually high speed under water. It was very small, with limited armament and no way to reload its torpedoes, and it was intended for operations in shallow coastal waters. It reached combat only in the last weeks of the war.
Glue the halves of the hull with liquid cement for plastic and sand the seam on the smooth side carefully. Decide on a full-hull build on a stand or on a version cut at the waterline. Paint the bottom with an anti-fouling color and the rest in the shades of gray typical of the Kriegsmarine. Add the low conning tower, the periscopes and the fine details of the deck at the end; unify the surface with a matte clear coat and bring out the structures of the hull with restraint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
