An injection-molded plastic kit of the four-engine Douglas C-118 Liftmaster military transport aircraft in the manageable display-case scale of 1:144. The package holds plastic parts, a decal sheet and instructions. The model is meant to be glued together and painted.
The C-118 Liftmaster was the military version of the successful Douglas DC-6 airliner. It served as a long-range transport for people and cargo alike and played a significant part in postwar air transport operations. Thanks to its long range and reliable piston engines it was used by the US Air Force and the Navy, and in a number of countries it was also deployed as a VIP transport machine.
In the small 1:144 scale clean joints and careful sanding of the parting lines make all the difference. Glue the transparent cockpit parts with a canopy glue, which does not cloud the plastic. The metal surfaces of airliners are well served by metallic paints laid on a smooth, glossy base. Settle the decals onto a gloss varnish and coat them with a matte or semi-gloss varnish to match the real machine.
The model comes unassembled and unpainted. The glue, the paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
