A resin General Electric engine exhaust nozzle in 1:144 scale by Rise144models, cut for the Mitsubishi F-2 kit by Platz and for the F-16 by Trumpeter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory in 1:144 scale for two closely related types: for the Mitsubishi F-2 from the kit by Platz and for the F-16 from the kit by Trumpeter. It replaces the exhaust nozzle of the General Electric engine. The target kits are mentioned because the manufacturer carries a version of the nozzle for the Pratt and Whitney engine alongside this item, and without that detail the two could easily be mistaken for one another.
The Mitsubishi F-2 is a Japanese combat aircraft whose design comes from the F-16, but with a larger wing and a range of solutions of its own. It is powered by one General Electric engine of the F110 series, built in Japan under license. The same engine series is used on part of the F-16 fleet as well, which was delivered with two engine fits, precisely with the General Electric engine or with the Pratt and Whitney one. The shape of the exhaust section differs between the two fits, so the choice of the right nozzle is one of the few details on a model that unambiguously determines which particular machine you are building.
Wash the resin part in lukewarm water with detergent and let it dry. Cut the casting block away with a fine saw, sand the surface and protect your airways when sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). In 1:144 scale the nozzle is small, so it pays to work with tweezers and to apply the glue with the tip of a toothpick or a piece of wire. Apply a thin primer before painting, one that does not clog the detail. The inside of a nozzle tends to be toned metallic with heat discoloration at the rim; it is built up in thin coats of metallic shades drawn together by a dark wash.
