The Space Shuttle was an American space transport system whose most conspicuous part was the winged orbiter with a large cargo bay, main engines in the tail and a delta wing. For launch it was carried by a giant jettisonable propellant tank and two solid fuel boosters, while it landed as an unpowered glider on an ordinary runway. It served from the beginning of the 1980s until 2011 and its silhouette became one of the best known images of spaceflight of all.
What decides is a clean surface, because the shuttle is largely white and white reveals every imperfection. Fill the seams between the parts and sand them wet with fine paper, then spray the whole model with primer and check it against the light. Spray the white in thin coats so that it does not drown the engraving. The contrasting dark areas of the nose, the leading edges and part of the tail are best masked with tape cut into narrow strips. Spray a gloss coat before the decals and, once it has dried, even the surface out with a semi-matte one.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
