Responsibility details are not available.
An unassembled plastic kit of the British biplane fighter in 1:144 scale from the Czech maker Mark I, which has long specialized in this tiny scale. The finished model fits in the palm of your hand and yet keeps legible panel lines and shape. It is in this scale that building whole collections makes sense: a biplane and a later heavy bomber both fit side by side into the same display case and the difference in size is obvious at first glance.
The Gloster Gladiator was the last British biplane fighter taken into regular service. Against the earlier types it had an enclosed cockpit, flaps on the wings and heavier machine gun armament; a radial engine powered it. The Mk.II version differed from the first batch in its powerplant and in an electric starter. It entered service at the time of the switch to all-metal monoplane fighters, so in service it met vehicles a generation younger.
On a biplane it is crucial to set the struts at a right angle: fit them dry first, then glue them one at a time and let each dry. In 1:144 scale it pays to apply the paint in a fine coat, as a heavy pass floods the engraving. Apply the decals over a gloss base and fix them with matte varnish. The rigging wires can be suggested with stretched sprue or a fine thread, but even a model without them looks good at this scale. The cockpit is easier to glaze if you attach the clear part with canopy glue, which does not fog.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
