Resin engine nacelles for a model of the Airbus A320neo in 1:144 scale. According to the name the set contains two engines, that is the fit for a whole aircraft. This is a detail accessory that replaces the plastic nacelles of the base kit, not a model of the aircraft.
The LEAP-1A is one of the two engine fits with which the upgraded A320neo family is sold. Compared with the older CFM56 generation it has a markedly larger fan diameter and a higher bypass ratio, which is the main source of the fuel saving, but it also means a bulkier and differently proportioned cowling. It is precisely the size and shape of the nacelle that are the most reliable way of telling the neo version from the older generation on a model: the nacelle is fuller, longer and sits on a modified pylon. It can, on the other hand, be confused with the other engine fit offered for this family, which has differently shaped intake and exhaust sections, so with the machine you are building it pays to verify which engines it actually carried.
Wash the castings free of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the mating surfaces. A larger nacelle also has more mass, so the joint has to have a proper mating surface: dry-fit first, and if need be enlarge the surface with a pin made from wire. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue or with epoxy, which gives you time to fine-tune the angle. Paint the intake duct and the fan blades before closing up. The cowlings of neo engines are usually fully painted and smooth in service, so use a glossy base on the model and apply the paint in thin coats so that it does not round off the lip of the intake.
The set is supplied as a resin accessory, unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
