A short-run injection-molded plastic kit of the American North American T-6G Texan trainer in 1:144 scale from Valom. It is a so-called dual combo: the box holds two complete models and, besides the plastic parts, also small resin accessories and decals for several marking options. Short-run molds offer fine detail, but the parts need somewhat more careful cleanup.
The North American T-6 Texan was an American single-engine trainer on which thousands of pilots from many countries were trained. The T-6G version was a postwar modernization with revised equipment and stayed in service for a long time with many air forces around the world, where it was used for advanced training and for light duties. In that role it earned a reputation as a reliable and undemanding machine.
With a short-run model, count on cleaning up the sprue gates by hand and on fitting the small parts. Use liquid cement for plastic, wash the resin accessories and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting; conspicuous training finishes and natural metal stand out best sprayed with an airbrush onto a smooth surface. Mask the canopy glazing and apply the decals over a gloss clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
