Precisely cut self-adhesive masks for a model of the Soviet Tu-134 airliner in 1:144 scale. The masks follow the shape of the cockpit glazing, so that after spraying you get clean frames without the slow work of going over tiny frames with a hand brush.
In the small 1:144 scale the cockpit frames are especially fine and painting them by hand is demanding. Using masks gives sharp and even edges and raises the overall cleanliness of the finished model considerably.
Clean and degrease the surface before applying them. Transfer the masks with tweezers and, once laid on, press them down carefully so that paint cannot creep under the edge. Spray the paint in thin coats and lift the mask while the finish is still fresh.
