A decal sheet with Royal Air Force markings from the period of the Second World War, 1:144 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
In the Second World War the Royal Air Force used a settled system of markings: circular national insignia on the wings and the fuselage, bands on the vertical tail surface and letter codes for the unit and the machine. The dimensions and the color versions changed over the course of the war, so for building a particular aircraft a sheet that offers markings in several sizes is useful.
This is a decal sheet in 1:144 scale with Royal Air Force markings from the war period. A small scale makes high demands on decals: an insignia is only a few millimeters across and any imprecision in the printing shows on the model. The exact list of motifs and their dimensions are given by the manufacturer on the box.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version; a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined. On the usual waterslide decal, proceed as follows: spray the area under the decal with a gloss varnish, dip the cut-out motif in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it stand until it releases from the backing. Then bring it up to the place, press the water out with a soft cloth and let it dry. On a broken-up surface a softener helps, but work carefully with small insignia so that the motif does not crease. Finally go over the area with a matte varnish, which hides the edge of the film.
The model, paints and varnishes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
