1:144 cross-type tie-down points for a US aircraft carrier deck are a photo-etched diorama accessory, not a model. They complete a flight deck with the small fittings that aircraft are lashed to.

A photo-etched set from Brengun for builders of dioramas in 1:144 scale. It is not an aircraft or ship kit but an accessory for a base. The cross arrangement of the holes matches one of the types of fitting used on flight decks; the manufacturer also offers a variant with a star arrangement, so decks can be told apart or both variants combined according to the subject.
A tie-down point in 1:144 scale is a feature a fraction of a millimeter across. Engraving it into a base is unreliable and a casting would have to be disproportionately thick. Photo-etched sheet is a few hundredths of a millimeter thick and the chemically produced holes have clean edges with no burrs, so they stay legible even after paint is sprayed on and do not clog up.
First mark the grid out on the base, as tie-down points on a real deck are regularly spaced and any irregularity shows immediately on a model. Separate the parts with a scalpel, not with nippers. Degrease both the base and the photo-etched parts before gluing. Dispense super glue minimally, because an excess around a part creates a glossy mark that cannot be hidden under matte deck paint. Apply the paint across the whole deck at once and only then bring the recesses out with a dark wash. Finally we recommend flattening the whole area, as a deck surface is by its nature not glossy.
This is a diorama accessory, not a kit. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package.
