A model of the two-seat training version of the piloted Fi 103, known under the designation Reichenberg, in 1:144 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fieseler Fi 103, for which the name V-1 took hold, was a German unmanned missile of the end of the Second World War. Its recognition marks were a pulsejet engine housed in a tube above the tail of the fuselage, short wings and launching from a ramp. In 1944 a piloted modification kept under the code name Reichenberg came about as well, on which a cockpit with a pilot was complemented by a landing skid, and the machines were released from a mounting under a carrier aircraft. For training purposes a two-seat version with room for an instructor and a pupil served. The Reichenberg stayed with the trials and training and never got into combat use.
In 1:144 scale this is a very small model that fits into the palm of a hand and takes up less room on a shelf than a matchbox. That is exactly why it is rewarding for a collection of unusual designs and for comparison beside larger machines of the same period. The procedure of the build, the material form of the parts and the recommended glue are given by the maker's instructions, because at small scales they differ from piece to piece.
Separate the small parts with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the shape of the edge does not disappear. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. With a model as small as this, watch the thickness of the layer: one thick coat of paint hides more detail than it adds, so spray or brush in several goes and thinned. Try the assembly dry beforehand and work over a mat with a raised edge.
For collectors of small scales and for modelers interested in the unusual designs of the end of the war. Paints and glue are not included in the package., unless stated otherwise.
