An injection-molded plastic kit of the British four-engine jet bomber Vickers Valiant in 1:144 scale from Mikromir. It is a short-run kit in injection-molded plastic meant to be glued and painted.
The Vickers Valiant was the first of the three British strategic bombers of the so-called V-bomber force, alongside the Vulcan and the Victor. It served with the RAF from the mid-1950s as a nuclear weapons carrier; the first British atomic and thermonuclear bombs were in fact dropped from a Valiant during the trials. Airframe fatigue brought the type's career to an early end in the mid-1960s.
With a short-run kit, expect to clean up the parts more delicately and to work on the seams. Glue with a thin liquid cement for plastic, fill the seams and sand them smooth. The large surfaces of the fuselage and wings look best under an even sheen with a fine panel line wash; lay down a primer before painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
