1:16 Desert Fox from the Gecko Models brand is a figure in a large collector's scale, suitable for a base of its own as well as alongside hardware of the same size.
Responsibility details are not available.
What is on offer is a figure in the large 1:16 scale, which in modeling is used mainly where the face and the folds of the clothing are to stand out. Against small infantry sets there is far more room here for expression and for the equipment, so a finished figure holds up on its own on a base and just as well complements a vehicle or a gun of the same size. The Gecko Models brand has hardware in the same scale as well, so a coherent cabinet can be put together.
The nickname Desert Fox is tied to the North African campaign of the Second World War and to the German commander who became famous in it. In modeling the expression has taken hold as shorthand for the desert battlefield in general. No particular rank, unit or date follows from the name, though, so you can set the placement in a scene according to your own intention.
A large scale rewards patience. What proves itself is a thin base spray, after it shading with thinned layers and finally the accentuation of the edges. The skin here will stand more intermediate tones than on small figures, so devote time to the transitions around the eyes and the mouth. Desert clothing looks believable when a fine touch of dust is added into the lower folds and the upper surfaces are lightened slightly.
The figure comes unpainted.
