1:16 Drive sprockets for the Pz.III / StuG III, a resin set (Firma49)

This item is not a kit but an add-on resin set of replacement parts. It contains drive sprockets in 1:16 scale for models built on the chassis of the German Pz.Kpfw. III tank and of the StuG III assault gun. The sharp resin casting faithfully captures the teeth and the lightening holes of the disc, which on the base parts tend to be simplified.

The real subject

The drive sprocket carries the power from the gearbox to the tracks. On the chassis of the Pz.III and the StuG III derived from it, its characteristic shape matters for the credibility of the whole model, especially in the large 1:16 scale where the detail is conspicuous.

Use and tips

• A replacement of the plastic drive sprockets with more detailed resin ones.
• Before gluing, wash the mold release agent off and cut off the casting blocks.
• They are bonded with super glue; take care over the alignment with the axle.
