Brengun 1:32 American AN-M57A1 bomb is a resin accessory for models of American aircraft. It is not an airplane kit but external stores in 1:32 scale.

This resin set from the maker Brengun represents the American AN-M57A1 aerial bomb of 250 lb weight, that is roughly 113 kilograms. The resin casting has a smooth body with no parting line and finely suggested details, which with the rotationally symmetrical shape of a bomb is a substantial difference against injected plastic, where the seam always has to be sanded out and the surface restored afterwards. The package holds the accessory alone; the airplane itself has to be obtained separately in 1:32 scale.
The AN-M57 belonged to the range of American general-purpose aerial bombs, which differed in weight class and were used on a wide spectrum of aircraft. Outwardly it was a cylindrical body with a conical nose and fins at the rear; the mounts on the fuselage and under the wings made it possible to combine various weight classes according to the mission. A model of external stores has a clear function on a finished kit: it fills empty racks and places the airplane in a particular configuration.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the release agent from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw and fine-tune the surfaces by sanding wet with breathing protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting. With bombs it pays to keep a uniform shade for the whole set carried and to apply the color bands by masking, not freehand; the lifting lug and its surroundings tend to be worn down to bare metal. Finally unify the bombs with the airplane using the same wash, so that they do not look like a newly delivered part.
The set is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
