The third volume in the range of stencils from MH models widens the selection of German divisional insignia for models of vehicles in the large 1:16 scale. The stencil serves to have the insignia created directly by sprayed paint. The result then has the same surface and the same degree of sheen as the rest of the finish, which on large models shows at first glance.
You set the stencil into the position you have planned beforehand according to where the insignia actually sat on the vehicle, and spray paint through it in thin coats. Large models often have a pronounced texture, casting marks or an anti-slip surface on their panels. In such places press the stencil down thoroughly and rather apply less paint, so that the outline does not bleed. It also works well to start with a light misting that merely seals the edge of the stencil, and only then to bring the area up to full depth.
It is intended for modelers of the large scales who handle markings by spraying. It will be appreciated above all by those who weather their models further. A sprayed insignia can be sanded down, darkened or partly covered with mud without the edge of a carrier film appearing. Before you start, it pays to check the placing of the insignia against period photographs.
