The German helmet M35/40 in 1:16 scale is an accessory for a figure, not a figure and not a kit. You put it on a figure's head, or lay it loose into a diorama scene.

An accessory for a figure in the large 1:16 scale. In the package there is the helmet on its own, which you fit onto a figure's head, or else leave lying beside it on the ground, on a crate or on the railing of a vehicle. It is neither a model nor a figure but a small thing that will give a scene credibility.
The designation M35/40 covers two successive forms of the German steel helmet, which differ from each other mainly in the working of the ventilation openings. On the earlier form separate grommets were riveted into the shell, while on the later one the opening was pressed directly into the sheet metal. The shape of the shell with a drawn-out nape and a short rim stayed the same, so the casting suits figures from the whole period of the Second World War.
First cut the casting residue off with a fine saw and sand the surface of the cut down. Then wash the part in lukewarm water with a detergent, so that no release agent from the mold stays on the surface. It is glued with super glue, and a gel with an activator will give you time to even it up. Go over the surface with a primer before painting. In a large scale it pays off to devote time to the transitions, that is a base shade, fine shading from above and a wash into the rim and at the ventilation openings. Paint the chin strap as leather and set the inner liner apart in a warmer shade. The helmet looks better matte, with a metallic sheen left only on the most scuffed edges. A textile cover, netting or vegetation can be added by you; they are not part of the casting.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a figure. Glue, paints and the figure are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
