A set of Weikert Decals in 1:16 scale intended for the interior features of a model of the Pz.Kpfw. VI Tiger I tank. It is not a kit or a set of parts, but a decal sheet with which the markings and lettering inside the fighting compartment of an already built model are completed.
The large 1:16 scale leaves the interior of a tank open to view, and empty inner surfaces then look unfinished. Decals with interior features bring these surfaces to life and give them a sense of scale, because small markings are always better applied than painted. The set suits builds with open hatches, with a swung-aside or removable turret, and models presented in a diorama in a stripped-down state. Check the actual contents of the sheet on the packaging.
The surface must be smooth and glossy, as on matte paint a decal turns white at the edges. Spray the area with a gloss varnish compatible with the paint used. Cut the decal as close to the motif as possible, soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest on a paper towel until it can be moved. Settle it, soak up the surplus water and apply a softener, which pulls the decal into the rivets and edges. Once dry, go over the area with a matte varnish, as matte inner surfaces are the rule on military vehicles.
This is an accessory to building a model, not a stand-alone model. The kit, paints and softener are not included, unless stated otherwise.
