A spare wheel for a large model of the German eight-wheeler, the type 1 rendition. 1:16 Sd.Kfz 234 spare wheel type 1 suits its designated place on the vehicle and works as a scene accessory too.
Responsibility details are not available.
A separate spare wheel for a 1:16 model of the German heavy armored car. It carries the designation type 1, that is, the first of the tread patterns in the range, and it can be used in two ways: either you place it on the vehicle where it belonged during the war, or you turn it into a piece of equipment set down on the ground, by a workshop vehicle or leant against a wall. It is precisely such small things that turn a static model into a scene with a story.
The basic combat version of this family was the vehicle with an open rotating turret and a quick-firing 2 cm cannon supplemented by a machine gun. It was not a weapon against tanks but a defense against infantry, light vehicles and, at a pinch, against low-flying aircraft. The open roof of the turret gave the crew a better overview, which counted for more on a scout than protection. This type formed the backbone of the reconnaissance companies in the last two years of the war.
Fit the spare only after the hull has been painted, so as not to block your access to the joints. If you are laying the wheel on the ground, turn the pattern to face the viewer and sink the lower edge gently into the base, as a wheel lying down never touches the ground at only one point.
See to paints and glue according to your own habits.
