A large-format injection-molded kit of the German half-tracked armored personnel carrier Sd.Kfz 251 in the /22 version on the Ausf.D chassis in the large 1:16 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the self-propelled variant carrying an anti-tank gun and, thanks to the large scale, offers a very richly worked interior and running gear.
The Sd.Kfz 251 was the standard German half-tracked carrier of the Second World War with a whole range of purpose-built variants. The /22 pattern came about at the end of the war by mounting a 7.5 cm anti-tank gun in the hull of the vehicle, creating an improvised but effective tank destroyer able to accompany the infantry.
The large scale puts the emphasis on careful building of the interior and the running gear, which you should paint before closing the hull up. Glue with thin cement for plastic. For faithful weathering use a primer, the base shade with an airbrush and then washes, pigments and dry-brushing for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
