A masking set for a model of the single-engined Cessna C-180 Skywagon in 1:72 scale. An accessory for painting, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of painting masks for building a model of the light single-engined aircraft Cessna C-180 Skywagon in 1:72 scale. It is neither a kit nor a finished model but an accessory that comes into its own during painting. The masks are pre-cut, so they are simply peeled off the backing and stuck onto a part - which does away with measuring out and cutting masking tape directly on the model.
The name gives only the type of aircraft and the scale, not the scope of the set. It is a masking set. Which particular parts it masks and how many masks it holds are to be checked against the details on the packaging - on small aircraft of this type the key area tends to be precisely the cockpit glazing, which on a high-wing machine is large and clearly visible along the whole length of the cabin.
The Cessna 180 Skywagon is a single-engined all-metal high-wing aircraft with taildragger landing gear, which has proved itself as a versatile utility machine - from carrying cargo from short, unpaved strips through patrol flights to operation on floats and skis. It is precisely the variety of its civilian and military users that makes this type a rewarding subject with a colorful range of schemes.
First wash the transparent parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry - on a greasy surface a mask will not hold and the paint will creep under. Carry a mask over with tweezers, seat it along the frame and press the edges down with a toothpick. Spray in thin layers; a thick coat leaves a ridge at the edge of a mask, which peels away when the masks are removed. Take a mask off while the finish is fresh, slowly and at a shallow angle.
The package holds painting masks only. Neither the model nor the paints are part of it.
