TERRAFORM Volcanic Rock Thin is a loose scenic scatter by AMMO of Mig Jimenez used to create a fine stone texture of terrain on dioramas and bases under models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A loose scenic material from the TERRAFORM range. It is not a finished scenic element and not a kit, but a freely poured material that you apply to a surface yourself and that takes its final shape only after it is fixed. The word Thin in the name refers to the finest grade within this sub-range; the coarser versions carry the designations Medium, Thick and Mix in the name.
With scatter materials, grain coarseness decides the result more than anything else. A fine grade reads on the scene as dust, drifted ash or fine rubble at the foot of a slope, and it does not overpower the detail of the model standing on the base. Coarser materials, by contrast, read as stone grit and individual visible fragments. On small vignettes and bases, therefore, reach rather for the fine grade, because a coarse grain would look like boulders on a surface of a few centimeters. Mixing the grades works best: coarser material low down and into the hollows, finer material higher up and where water or wind would have carried it.
For modelers who build dioramas, vignettes and scenic bases and want terrain assembled from several grades instead of one uniform layer. It also serves well as a complement to the coarser materials of the same range, with which it can be combined in a single scene.
The material is supplied as a loose medium; glue, paints and tools are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
