This is a sheet of 3D cockpit decals by Red Fox Studio in 1:32 scale, not a kit. The decals carry real relief, so once applied the displays and controls stand out above the surface of the panel, and the gloss backing gives them a glazed look without further varnishing. The target kit is Academy.
The designation F-16F belongs to the two-seat version of the late Block 60 batch; the single-seat counterpart of the same batch is the F-16E. The two-seat machine has two separate cabins one behind the other and a different layout of the instruments from the single-seat versions, which is why sets for single-seat and two-seat Fighting Falcons are not interchangeable. The Block 60 batch brought markedly reworked avionics compared with the older blocks, and with it a different look to the cockpit.
Before gluing, the raised relief of the instruments is usually sanded off the plastic parts so that the decal seats flat, and the surface is cleaned and degreased. The pieces are carefully taken off the sheet and transferred to the corresponding place following the procedure the manufacturer gives on the box. With a two-seat machine, work out in advance which piece belongs in the front and which in the rear cabin. Work while the cockpit is still uncovered.
