This is not a kit and not decals, but a set of pre-cut masking pieces by New Ware in 1:48 scale. The masks are stuck onto the glazing of a model so that during spraying the clear area stays clean and the frames get a crisp edge. The real subject

The PV-1 Ventura is a twin-engine naval patrol and bomber aircraft of the Second World War period, derived from a transport aircraft by Lockheed. A glazed nose and the extensive glazed area of the cabin mean a lot of frames on a model that have to be covered, and that is exactly where a masking set saves the most time.

Use

• Clean and degrease the glazing of the model, so that a mask holds well.
• Peel the individual pieces off with tweezers and lay them exactly on a frame; press the edges down with a toothpick or a blunt point.
• Spray in thin coats, so that the paint does not run under the edge of a mask.
• Take the masks off while the paint is freshly dry, not after it has cured completely.
