A kit of the Boeing 787-8 airliner in Airjapan colors, 1:200 scale from the Hasegawa brand. A small model for the display case of a civil aviation collector.
Responsibility details are not available.
Hasegawa offers the Boeing 787-8 airliner in the small 1:200 scale in the rendition marked Airjapan. The model consists of plastic parts and the builder completes the color scheme themselves.
The 787 type brought extensive use of composite materials in the airframe to commercial aviation, which cut the weight and allowed higher cabin pressure and larger windows. The 787-8 rendition is the shortest of the family and is built for long-haul routes with fewer passengers, so it can link cities for which a high-capacity machine would not find enough demand. The recognition marks of the airframe are the slender wings with their pronounced flex in flight and the serrated trailing edges of the engine nacelles.
On civil models the smooth surface is what decides. Fill the fuselage seams and sand the area through several grits to a silky matte. The white upper surface calls for an even coat without streaks, so spray it steadily in one pass. Leave the landing gear and the small parts until last so they do not get in the way during sanding, and varnish the finished fuselage before the decals.
In the box you will find unassembled plastic parts without a finish. Paints, glue and other supplies are not enclosed.
