SX-Art tint film for the G6 Rhino self-propelled howitzer in 1:35 scale gives the cab glazing the color cast of real armored glass. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model. Intended for the Takom kit.

This self-adhesive tint film from the SX-Art brand is cut for the glazing of a model of the South African G6 Rhino self-propelled howitzer in 1:35 scale. It is stuck onto the clear moldings of the kit and so replaces spraying clear tinting paints, with which it easily happens that the glass is left uneven or clouded. This is not a kit but an accessory for a model you need to have. The target kit is Takom.
The G6, nicknamed Rhino, is a South African 155 mm self-propelled howitzer built on a wheeled 6x6 chassis, which is unusual among mostly tracked rivals. The wheeled chassis gives it a long road range and quick moves between firing positions. The turret with the long barrel is set at the rear, while the driver's cab at the front has small armored windows with markedly tinted glass. Those are exactly the surfaces the film is meant for.
Wash and degrease the clear part, or the film will not adhere. Lift the piece off with tweezers or the tip of a knife and do not touch the adhesive side with your fingers, as a print shows under the film. Lay it on dry, line the position up and then press it down with a soft stick from the center toward the edges, so that no bubble is left. Given the small windows of the cab, it pays to work under good light and preferably with a magnifier. Do not spray varnish over the film, as it would lose the gloss that creates the final impression of glass.
