This self-adhesive tint film from the SX-Art brand is intended for the clear parts of a model of the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft system in 1:35 scale. It is stuck straight onto the transparent moldings and replaces spraying clear tinting paints, which cloud over easily on small areas. This is not a kit but an accessory for a model. The target kit is Meng.
The Pantsir-S1 is a Russian anti-aircraft system combining gun and missile armament on one carrier, with radar and optical sensors for searching and tracking targets. The combat turret with its launch canisters and rapid-fire cannons sits on the wheeled chassis of a heavy truck. The glazed cab of the chassis has armored windows, and those are what the film is meant for.
Wash and degrease the clear parts, or the film will not adhere. Lift the piece off with tweezers and do not touch the adhesive side, as fingerprints show under the film. Lay it on dry, line the position up and then press it down with a soft stick from the center toward the edges. On vehicles with a large glazed cab it pays to work one window at a time and to keep checking whether the film overhangs the frame anywhere. You do not have to varnish over it, and there is no reason to.
