Holographic film for the optics of the 2S25 Sprut-SD 1:35 from SX-Art replaces the plastic vision blocks and periscopes with clear parts that do not have to be painted. It is an accessory for a kit.

The SX-Art set brings clear parts that, on a model of the amphibious 2S25 Sprut-SD self-propelled anti-tank gun, replace the plastic vision blocks, periscopes and sight heads. They are set into the openings left by the original parts from the kit and give the optics a gloss that painted plastic can never manage. It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory for a modeler who already has the kit.
On a model the optics are a small thing, but one that strikes the eye straight away. An injection-molded vision block blends into the hull once it has been sprayed with paint, and a sight looks like a flat molding. Holographic film has a prismatic sheen of its own, which changes with the angle of view, so it does not have to be painted. On a finished, weathered vehicle the optics are then left as the only glossy point.
Fit them at the end of the build, after the spraying, the decals and all the weathering steps. Clean and degrease the opening left by the plastic part, and try the part dry so that it seats flush. Fix it with a clear glue for windows, which does not fog as it dries. Be careful with super glue on clear parts, as its fumes cloud the surface. Wipe dust away dry with a cotton swab.
