The set contains self-adhesive holographic film for a faithful imitation of the glass of the vision ports, periscopes and optical instruments on a model of the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle in 1:35 scale. The film is cut into shapes matching the individual vision ports and once stuck on it creates a realistic colored glint of glass that ordinary paint cannot imitate. It is a small but striking accessory, not a standalone model.

The real subject

The BMP-3 is a Soviet, or rather Russian, tracked infantry fighting vehicle armed with a combination of a low-pressure 100 mm gun and a 30 mm automatic cannon. The vehicle has a number of observation ports and optics for the crew and the dismounts, which the holographic film brings out strikingly on a model.

Use

• Take the matching shape of film out of the sheet and stick it onto the appropriate vision port or optic.
• The film changes the shade of the glint according to the viewing angle, which imitates real glass.
• It is usually applied at the end of the build, after the model has been painted.
