An accessory to a completed model, not a kit and not a paint. The self-adhesive film with a holographic effect is cut for the optics of the Wiesel light tracked weapons carrier in the version with the twenty millimeter cannon - for the driver's vision ports, the sight windows of the turret and the lenses of the lights. Once stuck on, a flat painted patch turns into a surface that changes shade according to the viewing angle and gives light back, which is exactly what betrays real optics at first glance.
The Wiesel is a German light tracked weapons carrier whose design is subordinated to being air transportable, including slung under a helicopter. The MK20 version carries a twenty millimeter automatic cannon in a small rotating turret and serves with airborne units as a support weapon against lightly armored targets and low-flying aircraft. The A1 and A3 versions differ in details of equipment and superstructure. The vehicle is so low and small that on a model in 1:35 scale the main part of the impression is carried precisely by detail - and cleanly finished optics are its most conspicuous part.
The film comes into play only at the very end, on a painted, varnished and dried model. Degrease the surface and free it of dust. Lift the individual part with pointed tweezers or a moistened toothpick, seat it and press it down with a soft tool so that no bubble stays under it. The film is neither painted nor varnished; if you flatten the model at the end, mask the areas with the film, otherwise you will lose the effect it is bought for.
