A clear film for the vision ports, the periscopes and the glass of the gunsights on a model of the Russian fire support combat vehicle known as Objekt 199. The set is cut for the Trumpeter kit, and SX-Art also makes versions for the kits of other manufacturers of the same vehicle, so it is worth choosing according to your own box.
Clear parts are less forgiving than plastic. Ordinary super glue gives off substances as it cures that settle on the surrounding glossy surface and leave a permanent whitish veil. Apply the glue in the smallest possible amount and away from the visible surface, ideally only at the edge of the seat, and give the part a free path for the fumes to escape. A safer alternative is a glue made for clear parts, which dries into a transparent film. Never wipe the excess away with a finger, because a print on the film will not come off again.
Objekt 199 is a Russian tracked fire support combat vehicle based on the chassis of the T-72 series. It carries a combined armament of rapid-fire cannons and guided missile launchers and is fitted with a large number of observation and sighting devices, which are what the set deals with.
