About product

SX-Art 1:35 2S7M Pion holographic film

This is a self-adhesive holographic film for the model of the heavy self-propelled gun 2S7M Pion in 1:35 scale. It is not a paint, a mask or a resin part but a thin glossy film that imitates the iridescent rainbow reflection of optical lenses, sights and vision blocks. The shapes match the optical elements of this particular subject.

What it is for

The optics of real equipment glitter in the light toward purple, green or blue depending on the viewing angle. Paint can barely capture such an effect; the film creates it simply by being stuck down and gives a model realistic-looking optics.

Use and tips

  • Cut out or lay on the shape to match the particular optic.
  • Stick it onto smooth, clean and degreased surfaces.
  • Apply it at the end of the build, once varnished.
  • Press it down with a soft tool to protect the surface.

Who it is for

  • Modelers of Soviet artillery and armor in 1:35.
  • Builders focused on realistic detail in the optics.

The accessory is a scenic material, not a paint; it serves to finish off the optical elements of a model.

FAQ

No, it is a self-adhesive holographic film; stuck onto lenses and vision blocks it imitates the rainbow sheen of real optical instruments.

Only at the end of the build, once the model is varnished and flattened, so that the film is not damaged.

Best on smooth, clean and degreased surfaces of lenses and vision blocks; a greasy or rough surface holds it less well.
