The set New Ware 1:48 Mistel 1 EXPERT kabuki masks is a masking accessory of kabuki paper for a model of the German Mistel 1 composite aircraft. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pre-cut masks of kabuki paper for a model of the Mistel 1 composite combination in 1:48 scale. The masks are stuck onto the areas that are to stay free of paint, the model is sprayed and once dry they are lifted off; this does away with cutting shapes out of masking tape, which with the glazing of two aircraft is particularly tedious. It is neither a model nor parts for a kit, but an aid for the painting phase from the Czech manufacturer New Ware.
New Ware offers several levels of set for the same subject, differing in the extent of the masking. BASIC is the basic level, while EXPERT is the higher variant with a wider reach of masking. They are therefore not two identical items, but a choice between a smaller and a larger extent. Check the particular list of areas each level deals with on the box.
The Mistel was a German composite system of the end of the Second World War. The lower part was an unmanned bomber with a charge in place of the front of the fuselage, and on a strut above it sat a single-seat fighter. The pilot took the whole combination to the target, guided the lower machine and released it, and returned himself. In the Mistel 1 version a twin-engine Junkers Ju 88 was combined with a Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter. The combination is attractive to modelers precisely because it is two aircraft on one stand.
The set is an accessory for painting a model. It holds neither the kit nor paints.
