1:48 F/A-18E/F/G Super Hornet wheel bay is an Aires detail set of wheel bays for models of the Super Hornet and the Growler in 1:48 scale.

An accessory for the build, not an aircraft model. The set replaces the shallow and smooth bays from a production kit with a more thoroughly worked assembly with wall structure, stiffeners and runs of piping. On a model on its gear the wheel bays are clearly visible from below and are among the details that most reveal the level of a build.
The designations E, F and G cover the single-seat and two-seat versions of the carrier-based Super Hornet fighter and the electronic warfare machine derived from them. All of them share the basis of the airframe, so they can also share most of the undercarriage spaces. A carrier aircraft has substantially more massive landing gear than a land-based fighter, because it has to withstand landing on a deck, and that shows directly in the shape of the bays and the legs.
The set is intended rather for more experienced modelers. Dry-fit the parts first and adjust the mating surfaces gradually; with bays, material usually has to be removed from the inside of the fuselage parts. Wash and degrease everything before painting, or the paint may not hold. Glue with super glue, as cement for plastic does not work here. Sand damp and with respiratory protection. Paint the bays and pick them out with a wash before the fuselage is closed; after that you cannot reach them.
