The Abrams is an American main battle tank introduced in the 1980s. The main armament of the M1A2 version is a 120 mm smoothbore gun, the power comes from a gas turbine and the protection from layered composite armor. The SEP designation stands for a program of gradual upgrading of the electronics and fire control systems, and the number after it distinguishes its individual steps. The SEP V2 configuration brought, among other things, improved thermal imaging devices, an upgraded commander's sighting system and a remotely operated weapon station on the turret, which makes it possible to work the machine gun from inside the vehicle. Externally the upgrade steps are told apart mainly by the arrangement of devices and stations on the turret roof.
On a modern tank in a small scale the cleanliness of the surface and the accurate seating of the turret decide the result. Finish the chassis and the running gear before you fit the side skirts. Fit the remotely operated weapon station and the devices on the turret at the end; they are tiny and easily broken off. Spray the base sand shade in several coats and lighten the middle of large areas, otherwise the model will visually merge. Keep the weathering dry and dusty; modern American vehicles from a desert setting typically carry a deposit of fine dust rather than mud and rust.
